It never leaves the phone.
Restoring on the same phone means bringing the record back from the encrypted file you saved. There is no cloud restore: no account to sign into and no server copy to pull down. This guide covers what the file brings back, what stays gone, and when to start a new record instead.
Restore on the same phone
- Start from the no-cloud fact. There is no cloud restore and no server copy to pull down. The way back is the encrypted file you saved, on the same phone it came from.
- Put the file back on the phone. Put the saved file back on the phone, then run the restore from inside the app.
- What comes back. The whole record the file holds: entries, sealed reports, and documents filed next to the symptoms they belong to.
- What stays gone. Anything logged after the file was saved is not in it. A new phone starts a new record, so a file from another phone is not a way across.
- If there is no file. Without the saved file there is nothing to bring back: the record stays out of backups on purpose, so no copy sits in iCloud.
When to start fresh instead
Today's square is waiting - no pressure, no streaks. The last two weeks can be filled in from memory, skipping anything you cannot place.

Does the restore use the cloud?
No. There is no cloud restore: no account to sign into and no server copy to pull down, because the app has no networking code at all.
