It never leaves the phone.
An encrypted backup in Endonem is a free copy of the whole record, kept as a file you hold. The record lives in an encrypted database on the device, with a Keychain key that never leaves it. This guide covers saving the file and knowing what it holds.
Back up the encrypted file
- Compile first. Compile open entries into a sealed report before you copy anything, so the file you keep matches the paper you hold.
- Save the encrypted file. Take the encrypted backup of the whole record. It is free whenever you want one, subscribed or not.
- Know where the key lives. The record lives in an encrypted database on this device, with a key held in the Keychain that never leaves it. Plan around the phone, not the file alone.
- Keep it out of the cloud. The record stays out of your backups on purpose, so no copy of your symptom history ever sits in iCloud. Keep your saved file somewhere only you control.
- Remember the new-phone cost. A new phone starts a new record, so export first if you want your history to move with you.
What the file holds
The file covers the whole record, including letters, imaging and results filed encrypted next to the symptoms they belong to. An encrypted backup of the whole record is free whenever you want one.
